THE FOLLOWING ARE SHORT DESCRIPTIONS OF THE VARIOUS BOARD DUTIES WITH CURRENT CHAIRPERSONS,

JULY 1, 2007 TO JULY 1, 2008.

CHAD HOPPE -  BOARD OF PARISH MINISTRY - The basic objective of this Board is the spiritual welfare of the Pastors, Called Staff and congregation members.  The supervision of everything pertaining to congregational worship, in particular reading Scripture and serving Holy Communion.  Elders also make quarterly phone calls to members of their flock.

TERRY GREIWE - BOARD FINANCE AND OPERATIONS- Responsible for the proper maintenance and repair of church property, the representation of the congregation and staff in legal matters, and the general protection of the congregation and staff against loss or damage of whatever nature.

CAROLYN ANDREWS - SCHOOL BOARD - Shall be responsible for the establishment of the curricula for the Shepherd of the Desert School and assistance to other Lutheran educational institutions.  Select, contract and supervise the school administrative and teaching staff.

TIM KUHN - BOARD OF HUMAN RESOURCES - Establish and maintain policies and procedures for all personnel of the Church, Preschool and School, e.g. payroll, vacation and holidays disability pay, health and retirement plans and grievance and appeal procedures.  Develop job descriptions, recommend appropriate standards of remuneration for all worker positions, review and recommend approval of contracts prior to execution.
